Course Outcomes

Thrive Train-the-Trainer is worth 70 CPD points to Thrive Licensed Practitioners.

This is an intensive and emotionally demanding course that combines virtual training sessions, e-learning and hands-on training experiences spread over a period of approximately six months.

The course equips delegates to become competent Thrive trainers able to deliver the Thrive Licensed Practitioner course. During the course, delegates will consolidate their existing knowledge of Thrive, deepen their understanding of Thrive theory, learn about what it means to become a Thrive trainer, hone their training skills and put those skills into practice in the field.

Who is it for?

This course is ideal for any Thrive Licensed Practitioners, Early Years, Childhood or Adolescent, with at least 6 months experience of using Thrive in a setting, and would like to take their training to a more advanced level so they can train others to become Thrive Licensed Practitioners.

Please note: prices are for courses starting on or after 1 September 2023.

As a practitioner, you know you can make a difference in your setting. But as a trainer, you have the power to reach more settings and therefore more young people. This means more young people will be met with positive connections and learn how to form secure relationships."

Barbara Davis, Thrive Trainer.

What you'll learn

This transformational course is designed to build on the understanding, knowledge and skills of current Thrive Practitioners by equipping them with the enhanced skill-set that they need to deliver the Thrive Licensed Practitioner course – our experiential training in the Thrive Approach for adults working with children and young people.

Depending on whether you have been licensed at Early Years, Childhood or Adolescence, the course enables you to deliver the Thrive Licensed Practitioner course relevant to their previous training and experience.

    Course structure

The course is structured into five modules with 2 e-learning modules, 5 days of virtual training sessions, 4 co-training sessions and 2 further days for assessment and licensing:

    • Module 1: Induction – a four-week e-learning module designed to introduce delegates to the TTT course and to each other, deepen delegates’ self-awareness and recap key aspects of the material covered during the Thrive Licensed Practitioner (Childhood) course.
    • Module 2: Becoming a trainer – five days of virtual training sessions in which delegates have the opportunity to learn about and practise the key skills of being a Thrive trainer.
    • Module 3: Developing practice – four sessions in real training sessions alongside an approved and experienced licensed trainer, observing and then co-training . In the course of these four sessions, delegates must deliver some sessions under supervised conditions.
    • Module 4: Deepening knowledge – a 10-week e-learning module designed to run alongside Module 3. This module equips delegates with the more advanced knowledge of Thrive theory required to successfully deliver Thrive licensed courses. The theory includes: key principles in neuroscience; an in-depth exploration of the Thrive developmental model; an overview of attachment theory; and insights from research into play, creativity and the arts.
    • Module 5: Licensing – a two-day virtual training module in which delegates are assessed on their ability to deliver Thrive training and, if they are successful, awarded Thrive Licensed Trainer status.
