This free Open Event is an opportunity for new schools and current Thrive schools to see Thrive within a well established setting.
About this course
Current brain science shows that for many young people in school, their stress management, emotional regulation and seeking /exploring systems are not yet sufficiently developed for them to access learning. The Thrive Approach has been developed to address these needs. It equips staff to see and understand behaviour as communication and it gives them the tools and techniques to support the emotional and social development needed to access learning.
The session is aimed at Heads/SENCo's and Strategic Leads. It will give you the opportunity to visit a school using Thrive and learn first-hand how the Thrive Approach works in practice.
You will be able to:
talk to the head teacher about how and why s/he introduced the Thrive Approach
find out what a Thrive room looks like and see a Thrive session in action
discuss with Licensed Practitioners what their role involves
find out how Thrive-Online can be used to screen classes and how the data can be used to monitor the progress of social and emotional development of the pupils
find out how a Thrive-Online Individual Action plan is created and how age appropriate strategies are selected
learn how all staff can be involved through a Whole School Approach
tour the school to see Thrive in action
