Free Awareness Session
An Introduction to the Thrive Approach to help every child access learning.
Current brain science shows that for many young people in school, their stress management, emotional regulation and seeking /exploring systems are not yet sufficiently developed for them to access learning. The Thrive Approach has been developed to address these needs. It equips staff to see and understand behaviour as communication and it gives them the tools and techniques to support the emotional and social development needed to access learning.
This short 1.5 hour twilight session is designed for Heads/SENCo's and Strategic Leads to learn more about Thrive. It will introduce you to the theory and concepts of Thrive and how it can be used to support children and young people in their settings. It will also outline the essential element of the Approach which comprises:
training - Introductory Staff training and Licensed Practitioner training
use of Thrive-Online - the underpinning assessment, action planning and progress monitoring tool that supports staff to address interruptive behaviours, overcome barriers, and develop well-being and learning potential
continuing professional development
the option to train your own trainers to build in-house capacity
This session is free and it and will be led by a Thrive regional representative.
