This 2-day course is ideal for classroom-based staff in existing Thrive schools. It will give them an understanding of how Thrive works to support the whole-school approach for optimal social and emotional development for all children. In addition, the course will demonstrate how to use Thrive-Online for group screening and action-planning, and explore some of the strategies and activities that can be used with children.
Please note that in order to undertake this course, your setting should already have a Thrive-Online subscription.

This intensive two-day training will introduce you to the Thrive Approach, it will give a clear understanding of the Thrive child development model, and how to apply this to support age-appropriate social and emotional learning. It will help you embed Thrive within the everyday curriculum, routines and structures within a mainstream primary classroom to improve learning outcomes.

Classroom based staff will be able to:

  • understand the links between social and emotional development and maximising learning potential to raise standards of achievement.
  • develop a classroom focused, trauma sensitive approach to support social and emotional health of all children.
  • have an understanding of appropriate expectations of behaviour at right-time development stages and how to support the development of these.
  • screen all children in their class against right-time emotional and social development using the Thrive-Online assessment and action planning tool.
  • interpret the Thrive-Online data to help plan specific strategies and activities to support the well being of all children in their class, evidence progress and demonstrate impact of the Approach
  • understand the role of Thrive Licensed Practitioners and consider how to support them effectively.
