This Thrive Approach course, approved by the DfE, has been designed for Designated Senior Mental Health Leads to align with Public Health England’s eight principles for promoting children and young people’s emotional health and wellbeing.
It will provide you with the strategic perspective and understanding needed to embed a right-time, whole-setting approach to promoting emotional wellbeing and preventing mental health issues for all students, enabling them to better access learning.
The experiential training, complemented with e-learning, is delivered by highly experienced trainers using interactive webinars over a five-week period.
You will explore how best to develop the culture and environment for the whole-school approach appropriate for your setting. The training covers:
Grounded with established neuroscience, child development and attachment theory, this training will ensure you are effective in your role, enable you to develop your team and the resources needed to meet the social and emotional needs of all students, with no one slipping through the net.
Course cost: £695, or £795 which includes a 45 minute one-to-one e-mentoring session.
This training has been designed for Designated Senior Mental Health Leads in schools and colleges. It aligns with Public Health England’s eight principles for promoting children and young people’s emotional health and wellbeing.
It is suitable for those new to the role as well as those looking to refresh or enhance their knowledge and skills.
On successful completion of this course, your setting will receive a £100 Thrive training voucher. This can be used to further your knowledge or to introduce a colleague from your setting to the Thrive Approach. Terms and conditions apply – please refer to the course outcomes tab.

The training is delivered over a five-week period with a half-hour pre-course session followed by four 3-hour interactive webinars with e-learning running concurrently.
For an extra £100, delegates are able to book a one-to-one e-mentoring session at the end of the course with their trainer.
For delegates successfully completing the training with 100 per cent attendance, a certificate will be issued.
Following completion of the course there will be a series of network meetings to share best practise and discuss local and national insights.
On successful completion of this course, you will receive a Thrive certificate and a £100 Thrive training voucher*. This can be used to further your knowledge or to introduce a colleague from your setting to the Thrive Approach.

All Thrive training is now delivered by our experienced Thrive trainers using a mix of live webinars, e-learning sessions and e-mentoring. On the Thrive training pages you can find dates for courses running throughout the year. We also have a team of regional Relationship Managers who are happy to help – meet the regional team here.
To become a Thrive Licensed Practitioner you will need to be working with children on a regular basis and be able to carry out Thrive-Online assessments to pass the course. We recommend volunteering at a school if this is not possible in your current role.
