This CPD course is aimed at those Thrive trained practitioners who want to update their skills and learn more about the Thrive-Online screening tool.

The day is broken into two sessions:

Session 1- Effective use Whole Class Screening This session will focus on the new functionality within Thrive-Online to profile whole classes and groups for their age-appropriate emotional and social skills. The ways in which the information gained can be used to improve classroom organisation and curriculum approaches will be explored together with a new action planning feature The best practice from around the country will be drawn on to provide models for the effective use of data produced in these profiles. There will be opportunities for delegates to give feedback about the issues that arise in their settings in relation to the dissemination and use of the data so that solutions can be explored. Curriculum approaches at each developmental stage will also be offered and explored. This session will equip you to:

  • have a better understanding of the Thrive-Online screening tool

  • carry out a screening of a group of children of your choice

  • consider the ways in which the information that you gain can be used to improve provision

  • make links between children's behaviour, underachievement and developmental interruptions

  • explore changes to classroom organisation, curriculum and school procedures through targeted action planning

  • consider different models for the use of screening data

Session 2 - Individual Assessment and Effective Action Planning This session will focus on individual profiles and effective action planning. The two different routes to assessment, baseline skills and observed behaviours, will be explored. The improved child management feature will also be introduced. This session will equip you to:

  • gain a better understanding of the new functions within Thrive-Online

  • practise using those different functions

  • share your experience with others

  • consider how you can make better use of the profiles and action plans in your setting

Requirements: You will need to be an authorised user of Thrive-Online.

Suitable for: Those working with all age groups

Open to: Licensed Practitioners or above

Notes: Delegates will need to provide their own laptop/ Tablet.
