Are you prepared for supporting children and young people who have experienced loss as a result of the coronavirus pandemic? Do you have a good understanding of the emotional journey involved in loss? Could you recognise the signs that a child or young person was struggling with this journey? Do you feel confident you could support children and young people effectively through this process?
During the coronavirus pandemic, many children and young people will develop a heightened awareness of loss and bereavement and some will experience it first-hand. For children, these close encounters with loss and bereavement can be particularly stressful and manifest in concerning behaviours, such as angry outbursts or withdrawal from social contact.
In this two-hour webinar, you will have the opportunity to deepen your understanding of the complex emotions evoked by a significant bereavement or loss and explore helpful ways to respond. In particular, you will be introduced to a range of new practical strategies, activities and resources, grounded in recent research, that will enhance your work as a licensed practitioner. The work of supporting children and young people through bereavement and loss can be particularly demanding on an emotional level. In light of this, we also pay special attention to the resources and support that you already have available to you to sustain you through this work.
This CPD webinar is ideal for all Thrive Licensed Practitioners preparing to support children and young people who experienced loss during the pandemic.
This two-hour webinar is worth 5 CPD points.
For settings that would like to commission a face-to-face training session, there is a flat rate charge of £300 per trainer per day (or part thereof) plus VAT.
