We are excited to announce that we are piloting a new 2-day course designed for classroom-based practitioners in existing Thrive primary settings. Foundations of Thrive for All Staff aims to provide delegates with an in-depth understanding of the Thrive Approach and how it works to support the optimal social and emotional development of all children in a setting.
Thrive Licensed Practitioners often have to focus on supporting the children in their setting who have identified interruptions in their social and emotional development. Yet, practitioners have told us that they believe all children would benefit from the Thrive Approach – because it helps to develop confident, curious, creative and capable individuals who are more open to learning and better equipped to deal with life’s ups and downs.
In response, we have developed a new course for primary school staff that focusses on supporting right-time social and emotional development in all children across a setting. The course will introduce the Thrive Approach, providing a clear understanding of the Thrive child development model and how to apply this for age-appropriate social and emotional learning. The course will also demonstrate Thrive-Online, our assessment and action-planning tool. Delegates will be shown how the strategies and activities presented on Thrive-Online can be used in the everyday curriculum, routines and structures of a mainstream primary classroom to improve learning outcomes.
The pilots will be running in Pontypridd, South Wales on 24 to 25 October and in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, on 27 to 28 November.
