“Thrive is a constant reminder about how important it is to know about neuroscience and how children’s brains are developing, especially during the early years. We can almost be like brain surgeons because children’s brains are able to forge new connections and adapt. What we do here really is shaping children’s futures.”

“In my professional opinion, you can’t progress more sophisticated things like phonics, reading and writing if a school is like the Wild West. Thrive’s principles and practices have helped us to identify individual needs and to respond accordingly so that our children feel settled and ready to learn.”

“I became a Licensed Practitioner to help pupils that struggle in a mainstream environment find a way of communicating their needs. Thrive started making a difference straight away and I’ve been able to reduce behavioural incidents by at least 50%.”

Steve Portues

Steven Portues
Pastoral Intervention Coordinator & Thrive Licensed Practitioner, Acklam Grange School.

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

“I find the neuroscience side of Thrive fascinating and enjoy helping young people understand how their brains work. A young person I work with had very low confidence and self-esteem, now they’re unrecognisable – confident, social and excited about the future.”

Mair Holmes

Mair Holmes
Learning Support Assistant & Thrive Licensed Practitioner, Barry Island Primary School.

“I’m able to deal with disruptive behaviour in a positive way and feel more confident guiding colleagues to do the same. Some children who had previously displayed disruptive behaviour have dramatically changed, becoming calm, productive members of their class.”

“Since using Thrive, attendance has greatly improved, there are less behaviour issues and the children are coming to school willing to learn and a lot happier. I feel a lot calmer too, I can cope with stressful situations better and I love going to work.”

Rhiannon Jones - Thrive Licensed Practitioner

Senior Manager & Thrive Licensed Practitioner, Shine (East Norfolk).

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

“The Thrive Approach really fitted with my role and I became a Licensed Practitioner to help support my team and meet the needs of children, young people, families and the service. I have since become Senior Manager and believe Thrive is fully embedded in our provision.”

Patricia Scott - Pastoral Lead & Thrive Practitioner

Patricia Scott
Pastoral Lead & Thrive Practitioner, Little Mead Primary Academy.

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

“We love Thrive - being able to correctly identify children’s emotional development needs has been a game changer. When I talk to parents with my ‘Thrive hat’ on they open up, feel listened to and are more likely to take my suggestions on board. In my opinion, this is as valuable as working with the child.”

Jo Richardson - Lead Practitioner

Jo Richardson
Lead Practitioner for Pastoral Progress, Northcott School &
Sixth Form College.

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

“As a member of SLT, I wanted to change the ethos of the school to a trauma informed approach. We’ve embedded Thrive as a whole school approach so all our pupils benefit which has led to reduced behavioural incidents and improved attendance.”

Deborah Pearson

Debbie Pearson
Lead Thrive Practitioner,
Hillcroft Primary School.

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

“As soon as my school heard about Thrive they put me on the course. I was already an Elsa Support, but now I wouldn’t look back. We noticed a difference as soon as Thrive was introduced. The whole school is relaxed, calm and every child would be able to tell any visitor what Thrive has done for them.”
