How does the Thrive Approach support pupils with SEND?

By focusing on wellbeing, emotional resilience and relationships, Thrive aligns closely with the challenges faced by many children and young people with SEND.

We recognise that every child has their own developmental journey, which is why our Approach focuses on the individual needs of each learner. Using Thrive-Online, you can assess and support pupils’ social and emotional skills with tailored strategies that help to build secure relationships, promote emotional regulation, and ensure that every child feels understood and valued.

what our customers say...

Shaping children's futures: The power of Thrive in the Early Years

“In our area, we have got a lot of vulnerable children, a lot of children with English as an Additional Language and we support children with complex SEND needs. Thrive is something positive that helps us to support all our children. We’ve found it especially helpful with children who are dysregulated or who are showing distressed behaviour.”

Elizabeth Leer. Deputy Headteacher and SENCO, Rothesay Nursery School.

On Track Wisbech: The ‘extraordinary’ independent school re-engaging young people with learning

“Thrive allows us to look at the behaviour of the child to gain a more in-depth understanding about what they may be experiencing. We have seen that a consistent use of the Thrive Approach has helped improve attitudes to learning, increased attendance, and improvements in learners’ emotional and social skills and relationships within peer groups.”

Gemma Adams. Deputy Headteacher, On Track Wisbech.

what our customers say...

Palladian Academy Trust: Thrive enables our pupils and staff to flourish

“Across our trust, our parents and carers have a range of different needs for support. Some have a pupil premium rate considerably higher than the national average and, similarly, some have a high proportion of children with a social care plan and additional SEMH or SEND needs. The Thrive Approach will help us to better meet the needs of all of our pupils in all of these areas.”

Becky Wilson. Executive Headteacher, Palladian Academy Trust.

Which Thrive Licensed Practitioner course is best for me?

Choosing the right Licensed Practitioner course for you depends on whether you focus on age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate needs.

For example, if you work in a secondary setting primarily supporting young people with special educational needs, we might recommend the Childhood Practitioner course. This ensures you’re equipped to meet their unique challenges effectively. On the other hand, if your approach is typically age-appropriate, the Adolescent Practitioner course will serve you well.

If you’d like further guidance on selecting the best course for your setting, we’re here to help! Feel free to get in touch for more information.

How do we measure the impact of Thrive?

Using Thrive-Online, staff can assess, track and monitor the emotional progress of pupils.
