Eligible settings may apply to the DfE to benefit from a £1,200 grant to cover the cost of training for a Senior Mental Health Lead.

Suitable for

This training is for Senior Mental Health Leads who want to improve wellbeing, attendance, behaviour and attainment by focusing on mental health. It’s a fit for those new to the role as well as those looking to enhance their skills.

Schools and colleges can decide who is best placed to take on the role of Senior Mental Health Lead and undertake the training. Training could be for your:

  • headteacher
  • deputy headteacher
  • member of the senior leadership team (SLT)
  • if not a senior leader, an appropriate member of staff who is empowered to develop and oversee your setting’s whole school or college approach to mental health and wellbeing.

Course content

This course teaches powerful strategies designed to help improve wellbeing, attendance, behaviour and attainment by focusing on mental health.

Unique in its focus on neuroscience, auditing and action planning, the course will enable you to:

  1. Learn why mental health and wellbeing are critical to school success.
  2. Accurately identify need, provide support and make referrals.
  3. Better understand and respond to the challenges young people face today.
  4. Benchmark, develop action plans and evidence your impact.

  • 4 x live 3-hour webinars
