How to create an anti-bullying culture

How does bullying impact the lives of children and young people?

Bullying casts a long shadow over the lives of children and young people. It inflicts profound and enduring damage to mental health and wellbeing, takes a heavy toll on school attendance, and wreaks havoc on education.

The prevalence of bullying is alarming. In the 2021/22 academic year, a report by the DfE found that 1 in 5 secondary school pupils reported being a victim of bullying, as did 1 in 4 parents (23%).

To effectively address and prevent bullying, it is crucial to establish an anti-bullying culture where comprehensive support and measures are readily available for both prevention and intervention. Scroll down to explore a range of free resources, including on-demand webinars and Thrive’s relational anti-bullying policy, audit and action plan.
