Course overview

Hear first-hand from a setting that is already using Thrive to promote mental wellbeing and help prevent mental health issues. Listen to their Thrive journey and find out more about how the Thrive Approach can be used as a whole-school, right-time wellbeing programme that will benefit every student and the wider school community.

Suitable for

These virtual open events are ideal for anyone wanting to know more about Thrive, how to embed it in a setting and the impact it has on the whole school community. The events are open to anyone working with children and young people, especially in an educational setting and including senior leaders, teaching staff, teaching assistants, student support staff and governors.

Please note each attendee will be required to register and make their individual booking via the website.

Course content

During these sessions you will:

  • Be introduced to the Thrive Approach, our training and Thrive-Online, our web-based mapping, measuring, monitoring and action-planning tool
  • Learn why a setting has introduced Thrive and how they have embedded the Approach for the whole school
  • Explore what a Thrive room looks like and a selection of different Thrive sessions
  • Discuss the different roles of staff, in particular the lead Licensed Practitioner role
  • Find out how Thrive-Online can be used to screen classes and how the data can be used to monitor the progress of social and emotional development of all children
  • See how a Thrive-Online Individual Action plan is created and how age appropriate strategies are selected
  • Learn how all staff can be involved through a whole-school approach
  • Learn how the Approach involves parents and how it has been received
  • Find out how effective Thrive is in improving the emotional resilience of all children
  • Meet one of our Thrive Relationship Managers, who provide ongoing support to settings using Thrive.

Course structure

This live webinar is delivered by a Thrive Relationship Manager and staff from a setting that has embedded the Thrive Approach using Zoom. There is an opportunity to submit questions that will either be answered at the end of the session or in a follow-up from one of the Thrive team.

FAQs

Where can I find upcoming Thrive training in my area?

All Thrive training is now delivered by our experienced Thrive trainers using a mix of live webinars, e-learning sessions and e-mentoring. On the Thrive training pages you can find dates for courses running throughout the year. We also have a team of regional Relationship Managers who are happy to help – meet the regional team here.

Can I complete Thrive training as an individual or do I need to be part of an organisation?

To become a Thrive Licensed Practitioner you will need to be working with children on a regular basis and be able to carry out Thrive-Online assessments to pass the course. We recommend volunteering at a school if this is not possible in your current role.
