Warwickshire mental health funding: how to use it to engage with Thrive

15th December 2021| Blogs

Warwickshire County Council are offering educational settings the opportunity to bid for one-off grant funding to develop their mental health curriculum.

The Mental Health Curriculum in Educational Settings Grant Funding is available to maintained settings in Warwickshire, including nurseries, primary and secondary schools, special schools and colleges.

What can the grant be used for?

Settings are able to bid for grants up to the value of £2,000 that can be used for training and teaching resources, physical resources (e.g. wellbeing rooms) and staff time.

Why use your funding for Thrive?

Underpinned by established neuroscience, attachment theory and child development research, the Thrive Approach ensures your pupils have the resilience they need to take on challenges, effectively manage stress and engage with learning.

Thrive is already being used to support over half a million children and young people across the UK, with over 2,400 settings using the Approach to promote emotional health and mental wellbeing.

When is the funding available?

Find the best Thrive training for you

The best way to ensure your funding has a lasting impact in your setting is by training a Thrive Licensed Practitioner.

Thrive Licensed Practitioners have a deep, practical knowledge of Thrive along with the skills needed to provide one-to-one and small group support to the pupils who need it most. They can also take the lead on embedding mental wellbeing support across a setting.

Leading Emotionally Healthy Schools courses are CPD accredited and specifically designed for senior leaders. The training provides you with a strategic perspective to embedding Thrive across a multi-academy trust or individual setting.

Pupil Wellbeing training introduces you to the fundamentals of supporting emotional wellbeing and equips you with some basic skills and strategies that you can put into practice straight away.
