My Voice Matters: Empowering children's mental health through expression

In today's world, where children's mental health concerns are on the rise, it's crucial to address these issues and provide a platform for young minds to express themselves. According to the NHS, 1 in 5 children and young people have a probable mental health disorder, highlighting the urgency of fostering open conversations and support systems.

To tackle the challenge head-on, we are thrilled to announce the launch of our My Voice Matters activity. This initiative aims to raise awareness, cultivate creativity, and empower children and young people to share their thoughts, feelings, and opinions with the world, knowing that their voices are heard and valued.

"Every child has the right to express their views, feelings and wishes in all matters affecting them, and to have their views considered and taken seriously."

Perfect for Children's Mental Health Week

We invite schools far and wide to participate in this inspiring initiative. The challenge is simple yet powerful: encourage pupils to share how they have used or would like to use their voices. Additionally, there's a space for them to share one thing with the world. This activity aligns perfectly with Children's Mental Health Week, scheduled for the 5th to the 11th of February, providing schools with an excellent opportunity to actively engage in this nationwide event while promoting the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people.

How to enter the activity

  1. Encourage pupils to fill in the activity sheet.
  2. Once complete, take a clear photo or scan of the sheets.
  3. Send the entries, along with the school's name, each pupil's first name and age, and the teacher overseeing the project's name and email address, to socialmedia@thriveapproach.com.

By submitting entries, schools will be entered into a raffle with the chance to win a £100 voucher for school resources.

Ensure entries are submitted by the 16th of February. The winner of the raffle will be announced on the 23rd of February.

This initiative is a call to action, a reminder that every voice matters. By providing a platform for children to express themselves, we contribute to building a supportive environment that fosters mental wellbeing. Let's come together to create a positive impact on the lives of young people, encouraging them to embrace their voices and share their unique perspectives with the world. Together, we can make a difference in the mental health landscape for generations to come.
