See the whole picture: Introducing My Thrive Scan™

3rd November 2025 | Blogs | News

A new way for schools to measure, understand and evidence wellbeing with confidence.

Across the country, school leaders are being asked to evidence wellbeing like never before. With Ofsted’s renewed focus on inclusion, wellbeing and how schools’ provision supports learners, understanding how children are doing - and how effectively your school supports them - has never been more important.

But until now, wellbeing has been hard to measure.

Many schools rely on gut feeling, isolated interventions, or fragmented feedback. That can make it difficult to spot patterns early, direct support strategically, or demonstrate impact clearly.

My Thrive Scan™ changes that.

Turning insight into evidence

Developed in collaboration with schools, My Thrive Scan gives educators a simple, consistent way to see the whole picture of wellbeing across their setting.

Through two short, staff-completed scans - one focusing on pupil wellbeing and one on wellbeing provision - schools can quickly build a clear, evidence-based snapshot of how pupils are developing and how well their environment supports them.

Results appear instantly in an intuitive dashboard - the School Wellbeing Snapshot - giving leaders and staff clear, visual insight into:
  • How wellbeing is progressing across classes, year groups, and the whole school.
  • Which areas of provision are working well, and where additional focus may be needed.
  • Trends and changes over time, helping schools show the impact of their wellbeing strategy.
It’s wellbeing, made visible.

Why it matters

Every school tracks progress in multiple ways - attendance, attainment, safeguarding - but wellbeing has often remained the missing piece.

And yet, the link is clear: when social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs go unmet, attendance often drops, attainment suffers, and safeguarding concerns rise. Without a consistent way to identify and respond to these underlying needs, schools can end up addressing the symptoms rather than the cause.

Now, with Ofsted’s increased focus on inclusion and wellbeing, schools are also being asked to evidence this work more clearly. That’s where My Thrive Scan makes a real difference - providing data that’s credible, consistent and easy to share.

It helps leaders move from reactive responses to proactive understanding, offering:
  • Clarity – insights that are simple to interpret and communicate.
  • Consistency – a structured, whole-school approach to tracking wellbeing over time.
  • Confidence – clear evidence to share with Ofsted, governors and trustees.
When wellbeing is visible, it becomes actionable - helping schools act early, focus support effectively, and strengthen outcomes across their whole community.

Built for busy schools Working hand in hand with Thrive-Online

For schools already using Thrive-Online, My Thrive Scan offers a powerful complement - and is included as part of the Thrive-Online subscription.

While Thrive-Online provides deep, developmental assessment and action planning aligned to the Thrive Approach, My Thrive Scan gives a clear, accessible overview of wellbeing across the whole school.

The Pupil Wellbeing Index in My Thrive Scan provides a clear, meaningful way to track and share progress. It’s an accessible benchmark that makes wellbeing visible - for staff, leaders and external partners alike.

By contrast, Thrive-Online shows how pupils are progressing against the Thrive developmental model, offering detailed insight into individual needs and next steps for support.

For schools that don’t yet use Thrive-Online, My Thrive Scan can be used completely standalone. It offers all the benefits of reliable, whole-school wellbeing data — helping you measure, understand and evidence the impact of your work, simply and confidently.

Together, they give schools the full picture: a broad wellbeing benchmark to guide strategic action, and a developmental lens to inform deeper, targeted support.
