Introducing guest speaker: Rory Gaskin

Rory Gaskin is an award-winning educator, leader and academic with more than a decade’s experience of supporting students through holistic, relational learning.

Rory is the Founder and Managing Director of The Learners Collective (TLC), an online learning service which connects students with exceptionally talented Scholars from diverse backgrounds for a blend of tutoring and mentoring – building grades, alongside life skills, self-belief and character. He oversees the delivery of their DfE-approved School Programme, in partnership with Oxford University, which supports FSM-eligible students with role models who guide and inspire students to aspire, achieve and succeed in exams and beyond.

As a consultant, Rory works closely with Schools and MATS, providing strategic advice on effective strategies to positively transform student outcomes, including attendance. Working in partnership with the DfE as a delivery partner of its Attendance Mentoring Pilot Expansion (AMPE), Rory designed and delivered TLC’s three-part training programme on the effective implementation of relational mentoring as an attendance strategy.

Rory is also a recent graduate of the University of Oxford. Battling c-PTSD and overcoming immense adversity, he ranked #1 out of 252 students, the first Black heritage student to ever do so.
