Introducing guest speaker: Hannah Maria Butterill

Hannah is a qualified primary school teacher, experienced yoga educator, and founder of The School Yoga Project – a wellbeing programme that supports children’s mental health through yoga, mindfulness, and therapeutic movement.

With over a decade of experience in both UK and international schools, Hannah specialises in helping children develop emotional resilience, self-regulation, and a strong sense of wellbeing. Her approach combines trauma-informed teaching, CBT-informed strategies, and positive psychology to support whole-child development.

Hannah currently works with a number of schools and academies in the UK, delivering targeted wellbeing sessions as part of their mental health and PSHE provision. She is passionate about empowering children with tools for lifelong emotional health and supporting educators in creating calm, connected learning environments.

As a Thrive guest speaker, Hannah brings warmth, insight, and practical expertise. She has presented at events including the OM Yoga Show London and has written for OM Yoga Magazine, where she shares her approach to integrating yoga into school life in meaningful and accessible ways.
