Behaviour, attendance and wellbeing are under increasing pressure in secondary settings. This course gives you the understanding and practical strategies to respond with consistency, strengthen relationships and support lasting change.
Designed for professionals working with young people aged 11–25.
This course is for existing Thrive Schools or Settings that want to train an additional Thrive Licensed Practitioner. If your school is new to Thrive, you’ll need to start with a route to becoming a Thrive School.
The Adolescence Thrive Licensed Practitioner course helps you understand the root causes behind behaviour, disengagement and emotional distress, so you can respond in ways that support young people and improve outcomes.
Over three months, you will learn how to assess social and emotional development, identify unmet needs and plan targeted support that helps young people regulate, re-engage and succeed in education.
Through live training, guided learning and practical application in your own setting, you will build the confidence to respond consistently, reduce disruption and create a more settled environment for both staff and students.
Support young people’s social and emotional development while responding more confidently to behaviour, attendance and wellbeing needs through a relational approach.
The course combines developmental theory with practical strategies you can use immediately in your setting.
How experiences such as trauma, loss, change and anxiety can disrupt learning.

Successful completion of the course leads to Thrive Licensed Practitioner status.
As a Licensed Practitioner, you will be able to assess young people’s social and emotional development, plan targeted interventions and track measurable progress using Thrive-Online.
This professional recognition demonstrates your expertise in improving wellbeing, behaviour and engagement, and strengthens your setting’s SEMH provision.

The course combines learning, reflection and practical application in your own setting.
Training is delivered by experienced Thrive specialists who work with schools and settings across the UK and internationally.
