Overview

Alison Waterhouse explores how Circles for Learning can be used to help children understand relationships, emotions and behaviour, while building empathy, tolerance and emotional literacy.

This session introduces the model as a practical way to nurture respectful, inclusive classroom environments where difference is recognised, valued and celebrated.

You’ll explore how structured observations, reflective discussion and follow-up activities can help children recognise different perspectives, develop a shared emotional language and strengthen self-awareness.

You’ll also gain practical ideas and strategies to embed a culture of belonging, where every child feels safe, valued, understood and supported in their learning and development.
