Family Thrive Course Leader helps you share Thrive with parents and carers in a way that feels practical and relevant to family life.

You’ll be equipped to deliver Family Thrive: Empowering parents and carers, Thrive’s six-session programme for families. The course helps you build inclusive, supportive group environments where parents and carers feel able to reflect on their experiences and explore the relationships that help children feel safe and supported.

This blended course combines e-learning and live sessions to help you build confidence in delivering the Family Thrive programme.

You'll explore how to:

  • Use metaphor, storytelling and visuals to support understanding.

  • Practise adapting materials and planning sessions for your own setting.
How the course works

How the course works

This blended course includes a 3-hour e-learning module and three virtual sessions.

You’ll complete the e-learning first, then join live virtual sessions where you’ll practise using the Family Thrive manual, explore group facilitation and plan how you’ll deliver the programme in your own setting or service.

The blended course includes:

E-learning module (3 hours)

  • Explore the purpose and shape of each session.
  • Watch model teaches and reflect on effective delivery.
  • Practise adapting materials and planning your own sessions.

Virtual session 1 (3 hours)

  • Build familiarity with the Family Thrive programme.
  • Learn how to manage group sessions, logistics and co-delivery.
  • Begin practising short segments of course delivery.

Virtual session 2 (3 hours)

  • Deliver activities in small groups using the Family Thrive manual.
  • Explore group energy, emotional regulation and facilitation presence.
  • Reflect on what builds confidence and connection.

Virtual session 3 (3 hours)

  • Consolidate learning through final peer presentations.
  • Think through how to prepare your setting and build engagement.
  • Leave with a full set of tools and clear next steps.
