Understanding trauma is important. What makes a difference in everyday practice is how that understanding shapes what we notice, the assumptions we question and the actions we take.
This on-demand course will help you move from being trauma informed to trauma responsive, giving you practical ways to support children and young people through everyday interactions.
No previous Thrive training is needed.
Develop a clearer, more balanced understanding of trauma, adversity and stress, and explore what behaviour can tell us about a child or young person and, just as importantly, what it cannot.
Across two recorded sessions, you’ll challenge common assumptions about trauma and behaviour and consider why remaining curious is so important. You’ll explore how trauma can be recognised as one possible influence on a child or young person without allowing it to define them or obscure their other needs.
With research-informed insights and realistic examples, you’ll discover practical actions you can use to create greater relational safety, belonging, regulation and engagement in your setting.
