Preventing bullying through awareness and action

Overview

Across two practical sessions, you’ll build a clear, shared understanding of what bullying is, and what it’s not. You’ll explore how bullying can show up in different forms, including online, and look at the three positions often present in bullying situations.

Using Thrive’s relational approach, you’ll learn how to respond with warm authority, pairing accountability with care, and communicating consistently with children and young people, colleagues, parents and carers, governors and wider partners.
You’ll also use an Anti-bullying Audit and action planning tool to identify your setting’s strengths and priorities. From there, you’ll turn your findings into a focused plan with clear ownership, timeframes and simple ways to measure progress. By the end of the course, you’ll have practical next steps you can embed straight into policy, curriculum and everyday practice.
